VDO 5.1-6.0 I am not sure if I can agree to the teachers teaching method but his games are easy to understand
I am sure you can make it better
VDO 5.A The Money Game-Upper Elementary/Lower High
VDO 5.B Wheel of Fortune-Elementary
VDO 5.C xxxxxxxx
VDO 5.D
VDO 5.E
VDO 5.F
VDO 5.G Sticky Ball Challange
VDO 5.H Playoff Spelling
VDO 5.I Memory Game- The teacher here might want to change and create flash cards with words to match OR opposites
VDO 5.J PICTIONARY-
VDO 5.K Hangman-The old classic. This game might be overplayed but the students loooooove it. For younger students you might want to make a boat that sails away as hanging people might be a bit cruel. For older students why not make full sentence- Try to put the topic vocabularies and language structures with in, as your lesson plan.
VDO 5.L 4-in-a-row
VDO 5.M 4-in-a-row
VDO 5.N SURVEY SAYS...-This is a great ESL Game to play any time during the class. What
you have to do is draw the grid on the board (like I have done in
the Youtube Video), on the far far left in the boxes the students
will write their friends names.
In the top boxes the students will draw/color/write a question.
Ex. If in box 1 ~ there was a picture of an apple.
The student would then go ask his/her friends, "Do you like
to eat apples?"
The friend would either say, "Yes, I do;" or "No, I don't like to
eat apples."
The first student would then write a CHECK MARK or an X,
depending on the answer of his classmate.
This student would need to ask all of his friends all of the questions
that are on his paper; he/she must also always use proper English,
and the answers must be answered using proper English as well
VDO 5.O Jumbled Words- If it is your first day in class with a new group of students...
and you want to "Break the Ice" with them... I would recommend
this game.
All that you (the ESL Teacher) would have to do is think of a word
in your head.
(Bird)
After you think of the word... scramble up the words in your mind and
write that scrambled word on the board:
1. DIBR (BIRD)
2. KLWA (WALK)
3. EOCFEF (COFFEE)
4. ATC (CAT)
5. NMABTA (Do you know the answer to this one????)
